Torneo internazionale al Palazzetto di Alessandria

The University of Eastern Piedmont's Sport Center, in association with the Centro Taekwondo Alessandria, organizes the First International University Taekwondo Tournament, a team fight tournament with invited teams.

The competition will take place on the 16th of November 2013 in Alessandria (PalaCima Spalto Borgoglio).

Each team will be composed of 4 athletes:

  • 1 Male black belt – weight category: 74 kg to 82 Kg;
  • 1 Male black belt – weight category: 65 Kg to 73 Kg;
  • 1 Male Yellow or Green belt (8th Kup to 6th Kup) – weight category: 65 Kg to 73 Kg;
  • 1 Female Blue or Red belt (4th Kup to 1st Kup) – weight category: 57 Kg to 65 Kg;
  • 1 Coach;
  • Optional: 1 Referee.

All athletes are required to be registered at a university recognised by their own country and will be required to present proof of registration (certificate from the university).

Each team will receive a € 100,00 refund for their travel expenses.
The University of Eastern Piedmont's Sport Center will provide lodgings and food to the teams: 1 night in Hostel on the 15th of November (one room for all male members of the team, one room for the female members of all the teams), dinner on the 15th of November and lunch on the 16h of November.
Referees will receive a € 50,00 expense refund.
All participants will receive gadgets and medals; teams will get cups for 1st to 4th place.

Organization of the competition:
Saturday 16th of November

  • ore 9,00 Weight-in (tolerance: 500 grams) and document control
  • ore 9,30 Opening ceremony
  • ore 10,00 Beginning of competition
  • ore 12,00/12,30 Award ceremony and end of the tournament

The team competition will take place in a single 6 minutes round. Every minute a different weight category will participate. For the last two minutes, one of the coaches will be chosen (at random) and will decide which weight categories compete.
All points gained during the fights will be summed up and the team with the highest score will win the tournament.
The tournament is non competitive and the participating teams will be exclusively invited by the University of Eastern Piedmont's Sport Center.
